When I think of tradition, I think of the traditional rangoli we put in front of our house every morning. It is believed to bring prosperity to our home. I put it every morning, not for the prosperity, but because I love drawing designs with the rice powder mixture. It brings me so much of happiness.
Anybody can create harmony.
It is an art we can all discover our self.
It helps us to discover music.
It helps us fill in happiness in our life’s shelf.
She had warned everyone that it would erupt.
No one believed her, they all said it was dormant.
She was proved right today morning.
When the volcano destroyed even the tiniest ant.
All those who believed her were safe.
As they left the place with her yesterday.
Those who were unfortunately over-confident,
lost their lives. ‘poor souls’, some would say.
I can’t judge the right or wrong.
It is all belief.
But, in this case,
believing her is relief.
What is a gate?
Gates can have huge significance, like the India Gate and the Gateway of India.
Those gates have a real huge amount of value, because they remind us of all the soldiers who sacrificed their life and all their comforts to give us, the future, freedom. When I think of these gates I am filled with respect and gratefulness to the soldiers and the freedom fighters.
Lollipops are round,
yummy and loved by all.
When we lick out comes an awesome sound,
and we get them in all seasons including fall.
In the midst of this quick development the world is undergoing, we often forget the necessity of our natural resources. Soil is one of the resources that are neglected by many, especially those who live in urban areas. Buildings and industries are built over fertile soil, while many farmers have to make do with infertile soil. Does this seem right? What can we do for our environment? What can we do to conserve the soil resources that we have? After all, 1 cm of soil is formed in thousands of years.
- Mulching– covering the soil with fibrous substances like hay or coconut fiber.
- Terrace farming– growing plants on slopes to help prevent landslides.
- Shelter belts– growing trees along the coast to prevent erosion.
- Land reclamation– reclaiming land that has gone underwater due to rise in water level.
- Rock dams– making small dams with rocks to prevent water from eroding the soil.
When I think of edible, I think of food.
When I think of food, I remind myself that I am living to eat.
I know many people who eat to live or rather, eat for the sake of eating. I don’t understand how they can’t sit and enjoy their food. I just love food. Cooking, experimenting and eating, I cannot live without. I’m sure there are many foodies like me on this earth. And in dedication to all of them, I support the ‘LIVE TO EAT’ motto.
